What started out as a birthday present to myself, has now evolved into a social media event. Tonight I will be in Las Vegas watching the Bon Jovi Concert at the Hard Rock Hotel. Through Twitter I found out that Hard Rock Cafe is having a Pre-Concert party and their first ever blogger party before the concert calling it Don’t Let it Stay in Vegas Blogger Bash. It’s a free event for all, whether or you are going to the concert.
I am not one of Sitewire’s media socialites. I work in the accounting department and have only started twittering for a couple of weeks. I usually like to use Facebook to get my “social” updates. I am amazed at how much information and how quickly it spreads or get around through Twitter. What I realized is that a lot of people have a lot to say for the whole world to know and it’s forever.
So as bloggers and twitterers gather at Hard Rock Cafe we will soon find out that “what happens in Vegas” WON’T be staying in Vegas thanks to social mediums like Twitter.com, Twitpic.com and 12seconds.tv.
As a social media experience, we will try to attend this bloggers bash to twitter and blog about the whole experience and to see if this will be a great marketing tool for Hard Rock or just a night of free appetizers, beer and WIFI for the bloggers. Stay tuned…
