Yesterday Yelp announced on its blog that OpenTable is now integrated. So after reading that The Capital Grille’s “Bone-In Kona Crusted Dry Aged Sirloin with Caramelized Shallot Butter” was “Freakin’ AMAZING,” you can immediately schedule a reservation for 7:00 PM tonight using OpenTable–without having to leave the Yelp site.

The integration is pretty darn seamless. You don’t even need to have an OpenTable account, but if you do, simply use the same email address associated with your OpenTable account to receive credit for your reservation. Pick a date and time, stick a fork in it, and you’re done.

This is super exciting news for restaurants; almost a third of all reviews on Yelp are for restaurants (29% to be exact). Yelp just surpassed 11 million total reviews, so if you do the math (11 MM x .29), that’s 3.19 MILLION restaurant reviews! And to boot, more than 32 million review-seekers head to Yelp.com to read those reviews per month (see below). Yelp and OpenTable’s combined forces therefore couldn’t make more sense. Together they make it easier for diners to take action on valuable word-of-mouth that gets cravings a-kickin’ and people a-sittin’… in tables…as a result.

Are you a Yelp user? Do you plan to use the Make a Reservation feature?
Oh, and Sitewire has been working on leveraging the power of Yelp as well. We recently launched a never-before-seen Facebook App to integrate Yelp reviews into The Capital Grille’s Fan Page (you can read more about it here). We’re looking to roll out a Phase II version of the app sometime in the near future to incorporate some neat enhancements, and we need approximately 20 businesses that are looking to try it out. If your business is interested in our Yelp-Facebook recipe, contact Jay Feitlinger and let him know.
