The Challenge

The Capital Grille recognized the wealth of user-generated content they had via Yelp reviews. But how were they going to use this content for their benefit? The challenge for Sitewire was to integrate Yelp reviews into the official The Capital Grille Facebook Fan Page. And without a Yelp API to help aggregate the various location-specific reviews, Sitewire had to devise a method from scratch.

The Approach

Sitewire’s development team began work on compiling the 40 different location reviews into one feed. While Yelp feeds work well for small, single-shop businesses, combining a larger company’s multiple locations into a single source is not easily done – and had not been attempted.

Once the aggregation was complete, a custom Facebook app was created for The Capital Grille Facebook Fan Page, where it lived on a custom tab.

The Result

When The Capital Grille came to Sitewire with this challenge, we pushed the boundaries, questioned the limitations. And the results were well worth the hard work. Not only was Sitewire able to spearhead a never-before-seen Yelp Facebook app, but the final execution was praised by both Yelp and The Capital Grille. The social media space is becoming more and more cross-platform, and for Sitewire to be able to contribute to this convergence was both exciting and rewarding.
